đȘ© What is tallow?
âąTallow is rendered animal fat. It can be used for cooking, soap, skincare, furniture polish, ect. I use beef suet which is 100% organ fat which is a little more nutrient dense and has a better finished consistency than trim fat. The trim fat is better to use as cooking oil than skincare.
Â
đȘ©Where does your tallow come from?
âąI source my tallow from small farms that are certified grass fed/finished. My tallow comes in the form of raw suet in which I then chop up and render myself. The process of each small batch takes me roughly 6- 7 to ensure my tallow is as pure as possible.
Â
đȘ© Do you make all of your products?
âą100% of everything I sell, was made by me alone, in my kitchen. Everything is made in small batches to ensure itâs as high in quality as possible.
Â
đȘ© What is the difference in whipped vs creamy tallow cream?
âąBoth my whipped and creamy tallow products are made with the exact same ingredients. However, creamy is mixed together really well and then poured into a jar whereas whipped is whipped in a mixer for an hour to give a light, fluffy texture that some people prefer. Whipped tallow is more temperamental and sensitive to temperatures. Whipped tallow will melt quicker and will easily become gritty or clumpy if it goes back and forth between warm and cool temps. An example of this is if you leave your tallow in the bathroom and itâs subjected to constant temp changes, it may form little balls. This does NOT affect the product. If this happens, put the tallow in your hands and warm up before applying. This same principle applies to shipping. Shipping tallow creams, especially whipped ones, in hot or cold temps, could affect the consistency of the tallow (but NOT the benefit of it). If you are purchasing tallow online and have it shipped, try to track your order and if possible, minimize the time itâs left in your mailbox/doorstep.
Â
đȘ© What are some of the benefits of tallow skincare and why is it blowing up right now?
âąTallow was used for skincare, cooking, first aide, ext LONGGG before we existed. Itâs truly the skincare of our ancestors. I think alot of us just had no clue about what tallow was or its benefits until it started becoming more popular. I bought a jar from a company last year and was IMMEDIATELY hooked and knew I had to learn to make it! Some of the benefits include: moisture, vitamins A, D, E & K, tallow is similar to our skinâs chemical makeup which makes it extra nourishing to our skins barrier, itâs naturally occurring and not full of chemicals so it will not strip your skinâs natural barrier, itâs anti-aging, itâs absolutely wonderful for eczema, psoriasis, rashes, sunburns, dry skin, acne, or just normal skin for hydration
Â
đȘ©Tallow is made from fat and can feel greasy, wonât it clog my pores?
âąDespite what we think might be obvious, tallow is NON-COMEDOGENIC and should not clog your pores! I have acne prone skin and large pores and have NEVER had a reaction or breakout from using tallow. It has been the opposite for me!
Â
đȘ© If I have oily skin, will tallow make it worse?
âąI used to have very oily skin, but tallow actually helps balance out your oil production. A lot of store bought, chemical filled products strip your skin barrier, triggering your body to produce more sebum, but when your skin is nourished with what it needs, that doesnât usually happen!Â
Â
đȘ©Why can two jars of the exact same product be different in look, feel and smell?
âąBecause tallow skincare isnât made in a lab and each cow is different and each batch is handmade by me, itâs not uncommon to see differences from time to time.
Â
đȘ© Is your skincare truly non-toxic?
âąYes, the base of all of my skincare is grass fed/grass finished beef tallow, ALL added ingredients are 100% pure and organic. Products are scented with small amount of pure therapeutic grade essential oils. As we go into the summer, some of my summer scents for body butters and scrubs may include fragrance oils. Those oils will be listed in the ingredients so that is known. They will also be 100% phthalate and paraben free. Face creams will never be scented with anything other than a tiny amount of essential oil as some people do not like the ânaturalâ beef tallow smell.
Â
đȘ© Are you cosmetics made from tallow as well?
âąYes, tallow is the basis of all of my cosmetics! Products are colored with natural mica and iron oxide powders!
Â
đȘ© What are the differences in your tallow creams?
âąFace and body creams: designed for use on the face, they are gentle and the scented ones are only lightly scented with essential oils. They can be used on the body as well for moisture. These creams are meant for moisture + hydration but are also very good for issues like dry skin, acne and aging
âąBody butters: a super hydrating tallow lotion, is scented a little heavier so I donât recommend using on the face, just in case!
âąBlue tansy + calendula cream: great for daily hydration on face or body, REALLY GREAT for acne, red complexion or sunburn!
âąTallow + manuka honey: can be used on face and body as daily moisturizer but is a little thick. Itâs designed for use with rashes, eczema, psoriasis and closed wounds. Manuka honey is natureâs antibiotic cream.
âąNatureâs Botox: can be used on face and body for daily hydration but really good for anti-aging and toning as itâs a powerhouse with tallow, castor oil and frankincense!
